Why a tok is indispensable in martial arts

If you're starting out in combat sports—whether it's boxing, kickboxing, or MMA—you can't do without a handkerchief. The handkerchief, along with your mouthguard, is essential for self-protection.

Once you start training, the first things you'll need to purchase are a helmet and a mouthguard. Gloves and shin guards are often available for rent, but not a helmet or mouthguard. Without them, you're usually not even allowed to train.

The indispensable protection for sparring and competitions

If you plan to spar or compete, a groin guard is especially important. A punch or kick in the wrong place can not only be very painful but also lead to long-term injuries. A good groin guard prevents this and ensures you can continue training safely.

Wide selection of cross protectors

We offer a wide selection of high-quality groin guards, specially designed for boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, BJJ, and other combat sports. We work exclusively with trusted brands that comply with European CE standards, ensuring maximum safety and comfort.

Material and construction

Most groin guards consist of a hard plastic cup with a soft rubber rim. This ensures a comfortable fit and optimal protection without pressure points. Some brands offer metal cups for extra strength, but in most cases, a standard plastic groin guard provides sufficient protection.

Ease of use and fit

Modern toks are easy to use. Most styles slip on over your boxer shorts; elastic bands keep the cup securely in place. Choose your size based on your underwear size – the size refers to the band around your hips, not the cup size.

Comfort and freedom of movement

A good groin guard not only protects but also fits comfortably. Our models are ergonomically designed to offer maximum protection without restricting your movement. This allows you to move freely and train to your full potential without irritation or discomfort.

Frequently Asked Questions about Cross Guards

Why is a groin guard so important in martial arts?

A helmet protects the genitals from punches or kicks. Without one, you risk serious injury, even from minor impacts.

How do I choose the right size?

The size of a jockstrap is based on your hip circumference. Order the same size as your boxer shorts to ensure a snug fit and stay put.

Can I wash a groin protector?

In most cases, you can remove the cup from the fabric. The fabric band can then be machine washed at a low temperature; the cup should be hand-washed. Always check the manufacturer's washing instructions.

Are there differences per martial art?

Yes. Boxing, MMA, and Muay Thai groin guards vary in design and flexibility. MMA models are often more compact and better suited for ground work, while kickboxing groins offer more hip coverage.

How long does a tok last?

With proper maintenance and regular cleaning, a quality groin guard will last for several years.

Can I try on a tok before purchasing?

No, for hygienic reasons, groin protectors cannot be tried on or returned after opening the packaging. Use your clothing size as a guideline when ordering.
